This website will ONLY feature news on my professional work from now on including exhibitions, work for sale and portfolio updates so if youre looking for old tutorials etc head over to the new blog and i’ll be reposting them there very soon along with a lot of new exciting stuff.

So, come on over to my new blog, follow me and introduce yourself. I highly recommend setting up a google reader account or Bloglovin which can be accessed from iPhone’s if you download the app (this is what i use) to keep track of all the blogs you love reading. I’m completely addicted!

From now on my main points of activity and contact will be here at www.liannewilliams.com, Facebook and possibly a more casual art/life sketch blog which I’m still considering whether to make public ATM. If I do I’ll let you know.

I will no longer be submitting to deviantart but the account will remain as I will still be looking around. Anything else is pretty much gone.

Ive decided I want a bit more fun with my art which means stepping back for a while. I’m blessed with the opportunity to do this as my husband and I are expecting our second child this December and with two under fives I’m going to have a LOT on my plate. But I still intend to work- but in a more playful, less ‘professional’ way. If anything I’m hoping i’ll get more stuff done minus the baggage of social media!

With this in mind please note I will be going on maternity leave from mid October for six months and I will not be taking on any new work from the end of August so please get any orders or commissions in ASAP.

Some shots from my latest exhibition at Nucleus Arts Cafe in Chatham

If you havent tried these amazing Kent wines you must pop down to your local Waitrose or John Lewis and grab a bottle from the Chapel Down range. They are incredibly impressive and prove exactly what’s so exciting about the new wave of English wines hitting the shops.

Ive recently tried two of their range, the English Rose 2009 and the Flint Dry 2010 and have created two new paintings inspired by their flavours, tastes and appearence. My intention is  to convey the olfactury experience in a visual way. I have used a blend of acrylic washes and tissue paper on canvas to give a layered, expressive abstract using sybolism and texture to convey what i taste, smell and see. When i look at my work i taste the wine all over again. This is my hope for the viewer too.

Both these paintings are for sale and will be on exhibition and available to purchase at the Nucleus Arts Cafe in Chatham on the 24th May until 6th June 2011. Please contact the gallery for further details on how to view or purchase these works.

These paintings would be perfect for a wine lover or displayed in a restaurant, shop or work environment where the value and artistry of wine is appreciated or indeed, a proud Kent home or business who appreciates the importance of local produce and supporting local businesses and communities.
